What work needs to be done for the maintenance of the drill rod of the Crawler Type Core Drilling Rig to ensure the smooth progress of exploration operations?
Performing routine cleaning of drill rods is fundamental to maintenance work. After each drilling session, the surface of the drill rods becomes coated with rock debris and soil. Workers must promptly rinse the drill rods with a high-pressure water gun and then dry the surface with a clean cloth. Special attention should be paid to the connecting threads of the drill rods, where residual impurities in the gaps must be carefully cleaned to prevent corrosion during storage or affecting the fit during subsequent rod connections.
The inspection of the drill rod connection parts cannot be neglected. Regularly check the usage condition of the drill rod connectors. If there are obvious wear marks or deformations on the surface of the connectors, it is necessary to replace them with new connector components in a timely manner to prevent the drill rod from falling off due to loose connectors during operation. At the same time, it is also necessary to check whether there is a thread slipping problem in the connecting threads. Once thread slipping is found, the drill rod needs to be repaired or replaced to ensure the stability of the drill rod connection and avoid accidents such as drill rod breakage during drilling.
The storage management of drill pipes cannot be overlooked. When storing drill pipes, choose a dry and well-ventilated area, arrange the pipes neatly, and avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight or immersion in rainwater to prevent the material of the drill pipes from aging or rusting. For drill pipes that are not in immediate use, apply anti-rust oil to their surface and regularly check the protective effect of the anti-rust oil. If the anti-rust oil is found to have fallen off, it needs to be reapplied in a timely manner to ensure that the drill pipes maintain good performance for the next use and do not delay the progress of exploration operations.
